Mac reviewing, beta testing and training
Video editing
With the birth of iMovie a new hobby
started for me. I wrote many reviews regarding iMovie,
iMovie plugins, alternative editing software, FCP, iDVD,
DVD Studio Pro etc. At Mac enthusiasts meetings I act as
iMovie and FCE trainer. Several developers enjoyed my help
by creating new video tools. Not only software, but also
the process of shooting the right footage has my attention.
Many reviews have been published in the Dutch magazine
MacFan.
Gadgets
As "Gadgetman" I hunted for innovations and
gadgets for the Business Class Magazine" Zoete ". Now my
discoveries are published onine. The gadgetman monthly
awards 1 gadget as "the gadget of the month" on the website
www.thegadgetman.nl. My network of
dirtibutors and editors stay informed regarding my
discoveries.
Shareware
Shareware is crucial for the Mac user.
The market is too small for many organisations to develop
commercial software. I help selecting the finest shareware
and review/ promote these in MacFan. The end editor makes
the final selection. I reviewed shareware like Foottrack,
iView, Brainforest, Comictastic, iWork, iBlog, MacJournal,
CrazyGolf, PhoneManager , OnSync, ITunes Catalog and many
many more...
Educational games
Being father has brought me to
selecting software for my children. Finding Mac software
for kids which offer educational elements has become an
area of my special interest. Unfortunately many titles are
not in Dutch or only for Windows. Luckily organisations
like Transposia and Mindscape offer great games with
educational elements. On a regular basis the experiences of
my kids and their friends are published in MacFan.

Over
the past decade I wrote quite some reviews for MacFan. The
great thing about MacFan is that the focus is on positive
news and keep the reviews balanced between easy to
understand yet filled with know how. A short list of some
reviews I did: video conferencing with iBot, iSight en
iSPQ; PIMs (Claris, Chronos, NOW, etc) and CRM systems for
Mac OS-X (Daylite, 4Cis, ECorganizer, iProfit, etc); Palm
devices and software; Newton devices and software; flight
simulators (X-plane, Fly) and much more...
Other contributions to the (Dutch) Mac community
In
order to help the Dutch Mac community, I translated several
great apps into Dutch. Some examples are iView MultiMedia
and Munchies. Currently my contribution for the
international Mac community is my effort for the
development of the easiest CRM shareware app for Mac.
